We take all work in the canopy very seriously, and if we can’t find a safe way to climb, then we can explore other mechanical options (MEWPs, Cranes, Forwarders, etc).
Our climbers are all trained and experienced, and encouraged to work to the current British Standards 3998 for tree work.
Our climbers operate with an aerial rescue trained groundsman at all times, and our whole team are certified first aid responders.
We are also mindful of the environment and our impact. All our work comes with a wildlife risk assessment as part of the service.

This was a tricky section fell in St Fillans, Perthshire. It was right above an oil tank, and the drop zone was into a fairly small garden compared to the size of the tree! Dealt with safely, and the stump ground out.

This red oak in Comrie, Strathearn, had been crown raised in the past, but was becoming too big for its space. We gave it a sympathetic canopy reduction, so it can be maintained at this size as part of a three to four year cycle of pruning.

Setting up a "speed line" so the birch trees in Crieff, Strathearn, blocked in behind this garage can be section felled safely, without damaging the garage or house. This is also a very useful technique for keeping our ground staff happy, as they can "speed line" the branches closer to the wood-chipper!

Tristram getting ready to swap to a bigger chainsaw to section fell the larger timber during this eucalyptus dismantle in St Fillans, Perthshire. This is one technique we can use to remove trees in hard to access, or sensitive places. All our staff are trained and competent with rigging techniques related to our work, with the latest guidance from the Arboricultural Association (AA).

Large dismantles produce a lot of branches! We definitely needed a large wood-chipper for this Noble Fir dismantle in Lochearnhead, Stirlingshire. We are very fortunate to have several contacts who are able to source just about any larger plant we need for the job, such as wood-chippers, mobile elevated platforms (MEWPS), cranes or forwarders.

This Norwegian maple was taking over this garden in Comrie, Perthshire. It had been pruned to a high standard a few years ago, which made it a straight forward task to make small cuts with a chainsaw and bring the new growth back again, reducing the load on the old pruning wounds, and allowing much more light into the garden again!

Our track record for high risk dismantles is something we are very proud of. We don't cut corners when damage to people or property is concerned. This noble fir in Lochearnhead, Stirlingshire, had been topped in the past, and has since regrown sizeable new leaders around the rotten old pruning wound. Dismantled using a speed line and lowering techniques safely and efficiently by our team!

This variegated Norwegian maple near Perth required a careful touch. They can revert back to their "non-verigated" state if they are over stressed by pruning. We used ladders and loppers to make small cuts, sympathetically reducing the canopy to keep it more in balance with the rest of the garden.

We do get to work in some pretty beautiful places sometimes! A nice view during this birch dismantle in Comrie, Perthshire! Cutting small sections of wood with a chainsaw to avoid causing damage to the ground below.
